”Right Now, Wrong Then”

What if I did not say that word at that time? What if you chose another action? Human is a living creature that regrets. While knowing there is no "if" in life, or, that is why we are delusive about "another world that may have existed".”Right Now, Wrong Then” shows the two samples deliberately overlooking the delusions.

A film director meets a female painter at a tourist spot and spends day and night together. Both male and female characters are the same, and the places where they appear and develop are also almost the same. However, a slight difference divides the situation that should be the same, and arrives at a completely different end.

Do not receive the title as it is at par. This is not a movie to show what is right and what is wrong. It is not a lesson to provide an ideal form of communication, either. Besides, it shows how the transformation of trivial things affects the relationship among humans. No matter how delicate women can be unprotected, no matter how arrogant men can be modest. Whichever you choose, you do not have to fall. It is "unconscious free will" that Hong Sang-Soo is gazing at here.

”Right Now, Wrong Then”

It is never cynical that the director looks from just above, instead of overlooking from the sky far away like God. Wicked desires latent in love. For example, trying to show yourself better, rubbing against others, behaving bravely behind the honesty. Whether they are exposed or not, it is always there, even though they are hidden, but the way to present two model plans of "hide and seek" of such a desire is surprisingly unexpected. The gentleness here does not bring relief or happy endings, and it does not matter whether it goes well or not. It just makes us to witness the clear horizon that there is nothing inevitable in our lives.
